HI

First post, so hello to everyone,

Over the weekend I have replaced the front struts, down links from roll bar to strut, discs/pads and track rod arms on my Sharan, When I reassembled the strut on the bench all was well, the spring was located then the top spring plate was fiited followed by the trust bearing and retension nut. On top of this lot the rubber bung. The assy was offerdd up to the turret and the top mounting and nut fitted. When the car is on its wheels there is distinct between the body work and the top mounting when viewed from inside the car. Unfortunatley I did not notice if a gap was present prior to removal from the car and also the wieght was off the wheels. Has anyone seen before or am I barking up a gum tree!

Many thanks

Eric

HI

The top nut was left loose until the vechile was on its wheels then tightened, ite same on both sides, its as if the top trumpet cannot get close enough to the doghnut inside turret.

Although Ive never taken a front strut off a Galaxy, I had a similar experience with a rear shocker on a Golf. Turned out I'd reassembled in the wrong order even though I could have sworn it was right. I checked by stripping the other side.
